I would seriously forget the SCXD for what you want. I think the Pro Jr will take your pedal much better.

I got a Fender FM 25 DSP. Now I want to go for the tubes, but for pratice and home use only.
In the same price range PJr for $349 and SCXD for $299 I would like to hear from you guys opinions on these 2 amps. Is really the SCXD all tube as the PJr ?
I´m gonna use it to play some gilmour and hendrix tones, as well some blues.
What would you guys recommend me ?

You'll get awesome variety of tonal qualities out of the SXCD. You'll be limited with the pro junior....

Only if you're into DSP effects. I find them more annoying than awesome. Just depends on your tonal taste.

This chap has a Fender DSP solid state. The Superchamp XD's clean is pure tube. The DSP effects can be completely turned off. I use a few pedals in front of the amp, but the DSP's are very functional. Not as tweakable as my pedals though...

Not correct. All of the channels and voices, including the clean channel, are DSP.

I used to have a superchamp xd, and initially i really liked it. But found the dsp effects harsh and they eventually got on my nerves. I think your better of with the pro junior. I craved a natural tone and got a Laney VC15. Superb amp and would recommend it it. Not sure how much they are in the states but well worth a look if within your budget. Takes pedals well and breaks up lovely for a rich warm tone.

I have been playing guitar over 15 years now: have been through many amps and pedals in that time period and either amp is an awesome amp to go with. to tell you that i just bought the SCDX and most of the FX in it are AWESOME. specifically for recording Either amp will do if you can do with th fx thats less to carry also; but do recommend a real wah pedal if you use

You need to try them yourself. Awesome to one is horrible to another. Teknics, welcome to the forum! :D

Teknics has been playting for 15 years and finds the effects awesome. I've been playing for over 40 years and think they sound like arse. I would record with a Pro jr before a SCXD. It just depends on your point of reference and your own ears.

It doesn't mean my ears are any better than Teknics, just different.
Try them yourself if at all possible. What really counts is what YOU like.

not choosing either one i also said that they are both kewl just that 1 has all FX built in and the other doesn't so if u have just survived cancer and cant carry a lot this amp would be kewl if not than either would be kewl it is up to the individuals decision.

I spent almost 2 hours at GC with a SCXD and a Nashville Tele! I was really happy with the tone and thought it sounded better than the HRDx I gave to my brother! Some how I can't see the Jr being the better sounding amp! Just my thought, I voted for the SCXD!

The cheesy effects turn me off completely and not being able to adjust the parameters on the presets made me bored very quickly. Within a half hour I was turning it off and shaking my head, but all the VM series do that to me.

I like creating my own tone and not having it preset for me. Even the GDec lets you adjust the effects. The SCXD just seems toy-like to me. The new GDec may be a viable option too.

The GDEC looks like a toy to me! A cheap toy!

Jeff Beck seems to be pushing that cheap toy. The SCXD is actually a notch below it in the effect department. The SCXD would have been a great amp if it was left alone as a Champ, the Vibro Champ would have been a great reissue too without the hybrid circuit. The Vintage Molested series strikes again. All kidding aside, no the GDec isn't a great amp, I have an older 30 and only use my own backing tracks, but at least it's a decent practice tool. And yep, they are built like toys, Take the tubes out of the SCXD and it's in the toy category too.

Had the change to take a test on the PJr, at 2-3 volume it sounded nothing special, at noon, boy that tone gave me the chills, but I realised I could never use a PJr in that volume at home :(

So the SCXD is back on my radar, also is and vox AC4TV. What you guys think ? those two I got no way on test them here.

From youtube videos I foun the ac4tv sounds more "vivid", maybe is my mind, maybe the EL84 tube in there.
The SCXD has lots of headroom, but couldnt find anyone getting "satturated" tones aout of it.

Hard to choose... GAS
