I DONT NEED HI VOLUME, IF I NEED A LOUDER AMP DOWN THE ROAD THEN I WILL BUY ONE. THIS IS JUST FOR HOME USE. I HAVE A MIA STRAT AND GIBSON LP STUDIO. PRICE RANGE IS NOT TO BIG A PROBLEM. I PREFER CLASSIC ROCK, BLUES. MUST BE MADE IN USA OR ATLEAST THE COUNTRY OF ORIGINAL. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.

A USA Fender will be hard to find in a Low Wattage "home" amp.
Why not check out a Marshall Class5

Here you go......

Image

All-tube, six watts, and made in the United States Of America.

$350 to $600 any day on "the bay".

+1 either that or build a tweed Champ or go for a Princeton. If you only want to buy it once, I'd get a SF Champ. I bought my 74 28 years ago for $150 and it's still great. I use it 4-5 times a week.

I'd get a Vintage Champ over a Marshall Class 5 anytime. If you get a 2x10 cab for the Champ, it's even better.

Marshall Class V or Maze combo also check out the Vox VT series or if you can get a used Vox AD 30 60 or 120 you'd have the sound of over a dozen classic tube amps for a real low price.BTW these amps are bulletproof.

Fender sound
Champ, Vibrochamp, Bronco, Princeton Reverb, tweed, brown or BF or SF. Great amps and everyone should have at least one IMHO.

EL84 -
Dr. Z Mini Z - 5 watts of pure fun. Volume and attenuator so it gets pretty loud but you can also have blistering power tube distortion at bedroom levels.

I'd say the Fender Pro Junior or Blues Junior but neither is made in US. While they're both Fender, neither actually is a "Fender clean" sounding amp but scream and are fun amps nontheless.

Hope this helps.

NO NEED TO YELL. TURN YOUR CAPS LOCK OFF.

I assume by 'home practice amp' you mean 5 watt tube amps? Some great suggestions so far! If you absolutely have to have made in USA only, then it's a good thing price range is not a concern for you. 5 watt tubers are all the rage these days and there vintage Champ type amps to be had like already mentioned above.

If you don't want to go the vintage route, there are many boutique builders making small amps made in USA these days:
Lil' Dawg Champster or Prince
Fender tweed Champ reissue
Gibson GA-5
Dr. Z Mini-Z (sounds like nedorama enjoys his)
Carr Raleigh
Savage Macht 6
the list goes on and on....try a google search for "5 watt boutique amps" or "handwired Champ amp clones".

Or build an amp yourself. If you live in the USA than it will be 'made in USA', right? There are many amp kit suppliers out there: Weber, Marsh, Mojo to name a few. Look here: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=5f ... =&gs_rfai=

I think you meant Marshall Haze. Yeah all decent amps, but all made in Asia except the Class V is made in England. The OP is looking for USA only.

Take a look at the Carvin Vintage 16. A great little amp made in the USA.

I thought that "Maze"looked wrong when I printed it.Limiting oneself to USA made only amps is keeping yourself from the opportunity of possibly having a very very good amp, personally I don't see the rationelle of it as a lot of US amps use components made in other countries anyway. You'd be hard pressed to find an amp made totally of US made components and if you did I expect that you'd have to pay dearly for it but to each his own.

If I wanted to stay int he 5 watt range, I would buy a late 60's early 70's silverface champ for like $250-$300.

If I wanted something in the 10-15 watt range I would probably build a tweed deluxe clone for about $600.

If I wasn's skilled enough to build one, I would probably look at something like a peavey classic 30 for about $300-$350 and add one of those Volume controls that sits between the amp and the speaker, can get them for like $17 off Ebay.

Hi Rob,
Yep, made in the U.S.A. and hand wired.

They don't want you to know where they are being manufactured. Fender guitars and amp were always made here for decades. Now it's Mexico, China, Korea.....

I think even some of the U.S.A. amps are only assembled here. Very few of the reissues use American made components. Some of the early Champs were plagued by baffle buzz. I tried a 57 Champ in NY when they were first released and above half volume the thing buzzed like a can of bees. Hopefully it's been corrected.
