I have a Champion 600 and am looking for a small amp that I can get some break up with at really low volumes. I was looking at a VOX AC4 that you can take down to the .25 watt setting.

Then a friend of mine said something about the Super Champ.

My question is can you run the on board effects with the clean side?

And anything in general you can tell be would be great.

I play a Tele and no metal and almost all rhythm. thanks

Yes, you can run the on board effects on the clean channel.

I use an SCXD for gigging and am very pleased with this amp. It should be a great match for your Tele and rhythm playing. I play mostly thrythm myself. You can get just about anything out of this amp.

absolutely without a doubt. I have the Superchamp XD and the stomp boxes work great on either the clean or modulation channel. The built in effects (Chorus, Reverb, Tremolo, Delay, and Vibrato) work independantly of the 2nd channel. A footswitch can switch channels and turn effects on/off.

Hey Guys, I know this is an old thread... hopefully somebody is still paying attention.

I've been laboring over an amp to buy for my first foray into jamming with others. I play through a GDEC-30 at home, and would like to leave it there. I've looked at and tried a few amps and have decided that I want something that is easily portable, instead of my first inclination which was to buy something big and leave it in the space. I like the SuperChamp XD. I haven't cranked one up though. Is it loud enough to play with a band? Somebody on this very thread seems to gig with one, so the answer must be yes. It will be awhile before I play out, in the first place I am just looking to use it to jam with another guitar player (who has a fender 212 of some kind) and a bassist, eventually a drummer. Money is an object.

I played mine with a band. Its loud enough for rhythm, non-lead stuff. If you want it to cut through, you'll have to run it through an extension cabinet. I actually ended up trading it because I was sick of carrying a 2x12 cabinet and this amp. If this amp was made either into a smaller head cabinet or had a larger speaker set, it would be a great amp for a band.

I replied that I gig with mine. But we mic everything and keep stage volume low. For rehearsals I use a Traynor YCV50 Blue, a 50-watt amp. But I don't turn it up very loud. I just started using a Blackheart Little Giant for gigs. It really all depends on the drummer. If the drummer plays quietly, an SCXD will work. But if you have an aggressive drummer, you might need something with a little more powerful. Don't discount a Fender Frontman 65R. It will be loud enough, not cost much, and sounds pretty good as well.

Has anyone gone and played a scxd through a EVM 12L for any length of time with positive results? I just have to get this off my mind before a final speaker decision is made.

Many thanks.
