Why do you want a 15" speaker? Those are mainly for bass guitars and amps. Looking at the Eminence website, 12" speakers top out around 5kHz. 15" speakers top out between 3.5 and 4 kHz. That's a big loss.

Not true.

And Eminence is a very small fish in a relatively big pond.

There are 15-inch speakers available from Altec, JBL, EV, Weber, Jensen, Oxford, CTS, Utah, and even Celestion. And they all don't top out at 4kHz.

The JBL D130F is one of the brightest, most articulate, full-range guitar drivers ever produced.

i was thinking of the JBL . i know what it will sound like realatively. but the question was will it some how effect the amp , will the tone controls still be in range or will there be lots of one and not enough of the other . hey if i could afford a 64 vv my problems would be solved. any thoughts ? this should have been my orignal question .

Seriously not true. There are lots of 15" guitar speakers around. Some are for guitar some for bass. Like Arjay said get a DRRI and have a ball.

Well I named the amp my "Spankmaster Reverb" if that gives you any clue.

Basically, I had a dream and I refused to take "no" for an answer.

Unfortunately, no. But it sounds familial......similar to a stock '64 Vibroverb.

A skosh less "subterranean" grunt perhaps (6V6's vs 6L6's) but still plenty loud and beefy. I also installed a switchable multi-tap output tranny so I can safely add a second 8Ω load via the extension speaker jack. NOS tubes round out the package (except for the rectifier which remains a Sov-Tek 5AR4).

I picked up a Fender 75 with a 15" EV speaker. Good thing this amp had casters! It has a great BF vibro sound on the clean channel, and does a convincing Marshall JCM 800 on the OD channel. Takes a while to dial it in, way too many knobs, that are interactive and influence tone. However, after dialing in clean tone, it sounds great with a tele. I know its big and heavy, and is not the easiest to dial in, but for $125 in near mint shape I could not pass it up- I'll be keeping it a while longer. Had it 4 years now.

Still don't see the use in it, especially in a Blues Deluxe (I have the Reissue).

I don't see any use for a Blues Deluxe. Or the re-issue.

But somebody else does. That's why Fender makes them.
