Post subject: HELP '65 Twin Reverb Reissue foot switch problems

when i plug the foot switch in and the reverb is swiched on i get this buzz turn it off buzz is gone the reverb works but always got this buzz when clicked on vibrato works fine no buzz there when i unplug the foot switch the the buzz is gone and the reverb works fine


i did open up the footswitch to to test for any shorts all looks fine there

any solutions??? :?:

Try pulling the chassis from the cab and touching up the solder joints on the footswitch jack. A cold joint may have finally worked its way loose due to heat and/or vibration.

ok i did a solder job to the jack there was a loose wire there but the buzz is still there

Try doing the same to the solder joints inside the footswitch housing.

Geez, I dunno. Mebbe the switch itself is NFG.

Do you have access to a second footswitch to check that possibility out?

HAHAHA GOT IT
turns out it was the peddle
there was a short in the plug

soldered a new plug on and im back in business.
damm cheap multi meter didnt pick it up

Glad you got it repaired, Worp!

I keep a cheapie DVM (like, ten bucks down at Lowe's or Home Depot) in my gig bag "just in case" but for serious troubleshooting on the bench, I use my Beckman or an old GI-issue TS-352/U. You might consider grabbing a better meter.

Anyway, you're on the road again. And that's the important thing.
