Thanks! gonna go check it out in a couple days... I was really hoping for tighter bass, I guess I'll find out if I like it or not soon.

My Egnater Rebel 20 has bright and tight switches that work really well. If I want tighter bass, I just flip the tight switch. With the Delta, it depends on your guitar too. I'd suggest to bring you own guitars and try it out. It's a really fun, swampy sounding blues amp. I really liked the tone I got out of it. It was bone stock too.

Interesting, didn't know about the tight switch on the rebel, might have to look into it...

Yeah I plan to take my Strat with Fralins with me. What I'm looking for is, think Lenny (live at El Mocambo), whenever he hits open low E, that's what I wanna hear from my Strat :) it's very close with the DRRI but when it gets louder it's gone!

yeah I should, I've seen a few at GC, just never plugged into any of them, I always go for a Fender amp, like a DRRI whenever I'm trying out a guitar.

I don't think of it as a Fender replacement at all. It's just another tool I can use to express myself. It does do a pretty close Tweed Princeton though. 8)

The tight switch takes all the looseness out of the bass. It's way different than just turning the bass down. Egnater is pretty cutting edge in affordable amps. They're not up there with Dr. Z, Carr, Victoria etc, but they are affordable cutting edge, well built and great sounding amps. Light years ahead of any HRD series amps.

The honeymoon was over with my HRDlx after a few hours. The tones were limited and I knew what I could and couldn't do with the amp.

The honeymoon never left with the Rebel. I still find new and interesting tones 11 months later. It's not full of gimmicks but very useful features. YMMV Just my opinion.

Nope, no reverb. The Rebel 30 has reverb and two channels. The Rebel 30 is crazy. It has separate EQ and reverb for each channel. I like heads better than combos because it usually eliminates the tube rattle that usually plagues combo tube amps in general. I can't remember any combo that didn't develop rattle eventually. Some way worse than others. My HRDlx was horrible.

I don't miss reverb at all. I'm not real big on it anyway. I'll probably either build a pedal or buy one already built. More for recording than anything else. Most places I play have nice natural reverb anyway. I don't do surf. There are both digital and analog units available. I just find a good amps really doesn't need it. Tweed Bassman's, Deluxe's and vintage Champs ans Bandmasters are the same way. Unless you had a Bandmaster Reverb.

I've always had reverb and I'm not big on pedals... gonna have to check out the Rebel 30 then, still has the same tube config?

Yeah I'm becoming more the head/cab type cause I'm getting tired of tube rattle, even tho I never had that problem with my old Blues Deluxe that I played for 10+ years, maybe 6L6s rattle less? EL84 and 6V6 amps I have/had all rattled!

The 30 is voiced slightly different, but still very cool. Same tubes 6V6 ans EL84 and a tube blend control. It has a watts control for each channel too.

You're always posting about the 20... in your opinion does the 30 sound just as good? I would think so, same tubes and all. I really like all the options that come with it! But I'm wondering if it'll only make things more confusing for me :) that was one of the main reasons I got the DRRI, simplicity. I had a Mesa Lonestar Special, great sound but too many options, found myself always experimenting and as soon as I find a great tone I go back and look for something "better"...

I'm a very uncomplicated player. I play in a couple of Blues bands and keep my setup very simple. I only wanted a single channel amp and all the features of the Rebel 20 were great for what I do now. When I bought my 20, the 30 was only available as a combo. I didn't want a combo.

The 30 sounds great. Having a separate clean and gain channel changes the voicing slightly. Still an incredible sounding amp, just more than what I want or need. I liked the 20 a little better. I run two 112 cabinets. I'm pretty lazy LOL and don't feel like bending over to make adjustments on my amp. The second cab makes it waist level and moves more air too. It also gives me a little more apparent headroom. I really love the setup. In 11 months of rehearsals and gigging, I've had zero problems (knock on wood) and I push it pretty hard sometimes. The Egnater cabs are rated at 80 watts each so the possibility of blowing a speaker is slim to none. They're loaded with Celestion Elite 80's and custom voiced for the amp and ported closed backcab.

Check out Traynor amps.

Despite its name, the YCV20WR is a 15 watt amp and it is a good one (it even has a headphone jack in case you need to practice quietly at home):

The YCV40WR was an editor's pick award winner with Guitar Player magazine:

I think the HRDlx was also in a GP amp shootout and received the same award. It's a shame they don't do long term tests like they do with cars.

+1 for the DRRI. I really dont see the point in buying the BJ, I had one and got rid of it, played my buddy's BJ for a few months 3-4 gigs a week cuz I didn't have my amp and he didn't want me to take his DRRI :) so I have plenty of experience with it... and I was a fan, til I spent some time with the DRRI.

I finally got my DRRI a month or so ago, and I have no idea why I waited this long to get one! If money is no object DRRI is the winner by far! It weighs about the same as the BJ, it's 22 watts and it doesn't sound boxy like the BJ does.

This is my opinion of course, no disrespect to the BJ owners out there :) I was once an a BJ owner but I've seen the light! So if you can afford one go for it, you can find them used on Craigslist for about $600. If not then BJ is your next option, forget the other 2 you mentioned.

DRI's are definitely nice; but the Super-Sonic 22 (SS22) is giving it some serious competition.

I wish Fender would have included their classic Tremolo from the DRI into the SS22; I've been waiting years for such an amp. (Hear me, Fender?!)

Take my suggestion, Fender, and I think you'd have the closest thing to a "PERFECT" small tube amp ever created!!

Btw, I noticed that no one commented on the Pro Junior. It's got a really nice tone and would sound wonderful miked through the PA. I've only ever played one straight guitar to amp, so have no idea how it would handle pedals, but straight guitar to amp it has a great tone!
