Just picked up a used Blues Junior and I still have a day to wait until I play it with my electric guitars. Earlier I got to plug in my acoustic with a Pro-Mag pickup and it sounds nice! Back home i have a few pedals: overdrive, distortion, reverb and echo. Is that the best order to keep my pedals in for this amp? Or have you found otherwise?

Since this isn't a solid state-amp, is it safe to use the "fat switch" along with my overdrive and distortion pedals?

Just trying to be cautious

Great little amp, can be even better, lots of cool mods available for it. The order of the pedals will affect the sound if you use more than one at a time, so move them around and see what you like best. There is no best order except that order that sounds best to you. I would think that the overdrive and distortion should go last, but see what sounds better to you. :) No problem with using the fat switch with the pedals. Of course with effects and the fat switch you might get a muddy sound, but it won't hurt the amp to do so.

If anything, you might want to be concerned about the bias for the output tubes, they are biased very hot from the factory and will use up tubes prematurely, and possibly burn up the circuit board and other parts if not corrected (many reports of this happening). The bias just sets the idle wattage of the output tubes, and there is no reason to have the tubes idling at near full power when you aren't even playing. People might say that "there is a reason for the hot bias" or "EL84s run hot anyway". Yeah, the reason is because of mass production, and Fender is as prone to screw-ups as much as anybody. I have already ordered a bias trim pot for mine. Those who have already addressed the bias issue in their amps say that it did not hurt the tone at all, and the tubes run much cooler. I have heard of at least a 70 degree drop in tube temperature when biased properly. Excessive heat kills anything electronic. I've played mine for a few years, off and on, and so far it's ok, but I'm still going to correct the bias.

Enjoy! :D
