With many amp manuacturers providing lower wattage amps in combos and head/speaker do you think Fender will try to compete? I'm specifically talking about something like the Egnater Tweaker amp. I don't consider the Supersonic as an option because it is twice the price of similar products by other manufacturers. Even Marshall seems to be staying with market demand but Fender seems behind.

Fender has always been more of a combo company rather than a stack company. There have been Fender heads and cabinets over the years for sure but the vast majority of Fender's amp sales is combos. I doubt we'll see a Blues Junior head and cabinet or a Frontman25 head and cabinet.

The Tweaker's a really nice amp. Well built too. My Rebel 20's been flawless so far. I'll have it a year in August and so far have had zero problems with it.

Get into the low wattage business?

We currently offer eight tube amps between 5 and 15 Watts. They range from $199 US MSRP to $2699 US MSRP. And though we do not currently offer a head under 40 Watts, all eight of these little combos DO have speaker jacks so you can hook up external speaker cabs.

CHAMPION 600
VIBRO-CHAMP XD
SUPER-CHAMP XD
PRO JUNIOR
BLUES JUNIOR
65 PRINCETON REVERB
57 CHAMP
57 DELUXE

That lineup covers a LOT of ground, wouldn't you say?

Sorry, but where on earth is there a speaker jack on the Blues Jr?

I'd still love to see say a Princeton in a head form or a Tweed Deluxe offered as a head would be cool. Even a PCB version of the Tweed Deluxe would be great and an affordable option that would let players without a ton of cash experience a real Tweed amp, not just a Tweed covered amp. The 5e3's are so dynamic. I know you can always have a small cabinet built. Member Retroverbial has one. Hey Arjay, where's your photo?

Also my current head has output jacks for 4, 8 and 16 ohm speakers so I can plug into almost any configuration I want. The mentioned Egnater Tweaker does too. It would be sweet to have a Fender head like that. The last Fender Head/Speaker cab I had was a Bandmaster in 73 and that thing was huge.

You have to unplug the internal speaker on the BJr to plug the ext cab in. I believe it's an 8 ohm minimum.

I am a combo guy..:) and I have both the Champion 600 and Super Champ XD. I absolutely love both! The 600 is a perfect practice/recording amp. When I am giving lessons I use my 600. For gigging and recording I also use the XD. XD gets most use for gigging though..:) Believe me the ability to use these with cabinets is amazing!! yes, I am on the Fender amp band wagon..:)

Thanks Arjay!
That's what happens when the Champ 600 ans XD amps grow up. Just kidding. Got my flame suit on just in case.

I hope one day every forum member who hasn't tried one of these beauties get a shot at one. A real Silverface, Blackface or Tweed. You'll never look at the 600, XD, VM or HRD series in the same way again. You'll get to experience the real Fender sound as it was meant to be.
