I have an American made Blues Deluxe, manufactured in 96. It is a tweed amp in a 212 combo. I have been researching this amp for years and I haven't been able find the Deluxe in a 212 combo. Does any one know why?

I'm not 100% certain, but I don't think a Blues Deluxe 2X12 was ever catalogued. Maybe it was a special order, or a prototype :? Have you contacted Fender support about it?

I suspect it's a Blues Deville. I had a 1996 Blues Deville in tweed with two 12's. In my estimation it's a much better sounding amp than a Deluxe, albiet a bit on the loud and heavy sides.

Sounds like a good guess. Weren't the Devilles 60w vs the Deluxe 40w? If so, is there some physical characteristic to easily ID it? My first thought was that there'd be 3 power tubes versus 2, but looking at the reissues, that isn't so. Both the Deluxe and the Deville have 2 power tubes.

How 3 power tubes can work?

I had the amp looked over by a Fender Certified Tech and concluded that it is a Blues Deluxe not the Deville. 40w. We traced the inspector code down.

This amp is a mystery. When compared to other reissues, is seems to be better made. Thanks for corresponding...

Should have said "4", but it's irrelavant since both have two. The point was to see something highly visable to distinguish between a Deluxe/Deville.

Wonder if the chassis got swapped out? My Blues Deluxe measures 21 inches at the chassis screws. It also has one screw on each side to mount it. Wonder what this 2X12 measures out at the chassis screws?

I was thinking the same thing myself. No way to shoe-horn a pair of 12's into a Deluxe cab but I'm betting that chassis would slide right into a 2x12 Deville box.

Hmm......?

I've been known to pull some off-the-wall conversions like that myself.
