Hi,

I found a SIEMENS Rohre ECC83 (n°581) = 12AX7 not used and bought in 1982 (indicated on the bill), it was in a replacement kit in a garage of a friend of mine. It's typically a double Noval Triode like telefunken ribbed.

I will try the ECC83 this WE (or the 14th day off in france).

The question is does somebody knows about this Siemens valves ? :?:

Tissan, all I know about them, is that they are a quality European tube. Their EL34 & EL37 tubes are supposed to be among the very best made. If I remember correctly, they were made in Germany, but I might be wrong about that. Nice find ! Art

I'm afraid that this valve is not the best in class in Siemens, I found this:
http://www.tube-classics.de/TC/Tubes/Si ... /ECC83.htm
Mine is similar to "siemens : eastern Europe and the comment is: stay away

Yeah Tissan, I see what you're talking about. One spacer wouldn't make it in a rock & roll world. Apparently my reading was about the older tubes. But thanks for the classic tube link ! I came across some Valvo tubes quite a few years ago( pulls from a US TV set) and didn't know anything about them, except that they were very nice 12AX7's. Still have one out of four left, the others served me well. Art
