Hi,

In the last month I noticed that my Fender Twin Reverb amp ('65 reissue) is producing more hum (compared to the Bassman which I own too). The amp is less than one year old. What can be the cause of this hum?

power tubes need replacement? I ordered a new quartett (blue as the ones still on the amp)
Bias?
electric current outlet fluctuations?

Also I have no experience replacing tubes. Is that a difficult job?

Thanks to all replies. I am not an experienced tube amp user!

Hello. I also have a '65 Reissue Twin Reverb that I bought new just a few weeks ago. It has hummed since I took it out of the box. Today I decided to replace the power tubes thinking that something may have happened during shipping and handling but it made no difference at all so I guess mine is going to a repair center. Tubes are not hard to replace. I am sure you can find info on the net to guide you through it if you need it but it is really just a pull one out and put one in type deal unless you are changing brands or type of the tube then it will need to be biased. That ususally means that you will have to have a qualified tech to perform that service. Hope that helps. Jeff.

Looking forward to your update on your Repair.
I haven't changed the tubes yet, but I will soon and after that I'll post some of the findings.

Anyone with a Fender Twin Reverb '65 Reissue can shed some light on this question?

Does your amp produce hum? At which level? Is it normal?

Thanks to all. :D

I have one, but I don't have any hum problems. I have had mine for 4 years now. Is the hum there when just plugged in by itself or when you have a guitar/effects connected to it?

The hum is always there. Even with nothing plugged to the amp's inputs...
