two tubes from my twin reverb reissue. Which two do I pull? The outter two, the inner two, every other one?
Thanks in advance.

Right, the outside or the two inside tubes. And a good idea is to disconnect one speaker, this keeps the impedance and negative feedback loop in a reasonable situation. Art

It's still going to be loud. Really loud. At least mine was when I tried it.

Using an attenuator (Airbrake, Hotplate, Weber Mass, etc) will give you more control over power reduction instead of pulling two tubes.

You have to be sure an attenuator is rated for the amp. I've tried just about all of them and they all seem to color the sound somewhat. The Dr Z a bit less.
The other thing you have to remember with an attenuator, when you crank your amp. it's still hard on the tubes. I caved with my Twin and just bought a lower wattage lighter weight amp. I'm thrilled to death with the tone and it plenty loud enough to gig with. It's only 20 watts.

I do mostly charity events and outside events, so I'm hoping that I will at least be able to break the "3" barrier on my volume knob.

Will the bias need readjustment if two tubes are pulled? If I keep both speakers plugged in will it ultimately damage anything?

Attenuator are great and thanks for the recommendation, but you just can't beat the price of pulling two tubes  .

Anyways, thanks for all your input and recomendations.

Yep, I would check the bias. With two speakers hooked up, the impedance would be a mismatch of 100%. The amp could handle that for a show or two, but not as a steady diet. Art

If I unplugged one speaker, would I still need to rebias?

Yeah, I'm afraid so. It's just a case of changing what the amp was used to seeing as far as demand. If you choose not to, I believe the tubes would be getting more bias voltage, causing the tubes to run kind of cold. But you could certainly try it and see how it sounds. This condition wouldn't hurt the amp or tubes, but the tone may not suit you. Art
