Why can't I access the tuner from Midi Program change #127 (or 126, whatever...)
It doesn't go to tuner, no matter what...
Also, I was told I can do a chip upgrade by a auth Fender tech, but what does this do?
Anybody?
I am taking the CT out tonite for a maiden journey. I am going thru with configuring it with an ART MIDI pedal. It's great because you can assign one pedal to Effx Level (DDL, trem, whatever), and one to GAIN or Volume.
And you alway have access to tap tempo in one button.
That pretty much covers it.
Also, it's really good with stereo affx pedals...
But meanwhile, anybody????

tuner mode is MIDI accessible, it is a program change control (actually a toggle), don't fully appreciate your problem. it was tricky to program, the CT gets real touchy why the signal timing is bit off, not very tolerant and get get lost in space. trick was to get the timing spot on (from a PC).

there is a factory kit (installable by a fender authorized dealer) that brings the CT to "version 1.3" which comprises a firmware upgrade and tube anti-rattle kit.

Cyber Commander can access the tuner mode. It also makes programming the CT a snap, even on stage. See:

and see if its for you.

Thanks for your reply...
So using 3 different MIDI program devices doesn't work...
( 2 different ART devices, x12,X15, and the MIDI Mouse)
Are you saying the timing of the Midi messages has to be spot on? Lime the millisecounds between hex bits, that sorta thing?
What does everybody do to address this problem?

AND the chip upgrade...what does that do ? In terms of an older firmware (what I have now), whats the difference in operation of the amp. So far, no problem with tube rattle......

And Cypercommander sounds good, I njust have to install Windows XP on my Mac, which might take a while...

Cheers,
Billy

the problem is that pc/mac is not a "real-time" system so the trick was to get the pc/mac to output the bits with the bit timing properly set, set bank 1 & then send program change 127. this is the way cyber commander does it. the bit timing control is the proprietary part in cyber commander, setting bank 1, then program change control 127 is in the manual. i have no idea what everybody else does.

i don't have the details on the upgrade, but i recall there were some software bugs that got fixed, you would have to go through the forums and dig out the info. i also recall everyone who got the upgrade was quite pleased. i bought my ct's with version 3 factory fresh, this was the last fender shipped version.

good luck.
