Hey guys, had an issue I was wondering if anyone could help me out with. My vibro king's trem is buzzing really bad. Not ticking, but buzzing. I made a video so you could see/hear exactly what Im talking about. It's located at www.jonathanclay.com/vk.mov

And just fyi, the trem lamp was in sync with the buzz, but some of the flash's of the lamp weren't picked up by my video camera due to the frame rate..

Thank alot for any help!

Appreciate it!

I just tried switching it out with another 6V6 and that didn't help. Any other ideas?

The 6V6 is the reverb driver. Consult the schematic in the owner's manual to locate the vibrato tube. It'll be a 12AT7 or a 12AX7.

Hey JC the manual and the schematic don't agree with each other. Looking from the back of the amp, counting from right to left the fifth tube should be a 12AX7, this would be V5. This is the tube that I would swap out. The next tube to the left should also be a 12AX7, this would be V6. This is where the problem arises with the information. the manual states that V6b drives the light- resistor for the vib circuit, but the schem shows V5b. So not having the amp in front of me, I'm going with the schem( V5 -operating the vib). Art

As far as i 've heard the noise reinjected in the channel it could be the decoupling cap C31/32 (depending of the schematic indice) that can affect the triode stage of the pentode.

I wish I would have posted this question before I went to the trouble dropping the chassis! Ended up just being the 12ax7 (5th from the left) just like you suggested.

Problem solved.

Thank you all so much for the help!

That's good news, JC !!! How do you like that amp ? I've only had the chance to play through one at a gig for a pick-up band some years ago. I like the sound of three 10's. I usually run a 1X10 cab with my 2X10 combo conversion Bassman. Art
