OK Johnny

You need to let us know what the blemish is.... I have been looking for it for days now... I cant' find any thing in the text files... I thought maybe a word was spelled wrong in the little explanation that tells what the button does... Like.....(Reads a players lounge from disk file Optionnaly sending it to the amp)... My spell checker says.... Optionally.... If this is the blemish that's pretty good for a program one little letter missing... Jakej

ok, here it is:

It is in one, and only one, of the txt files Cyber Commander produces. First, you have to pick the effect called "Ultra Clean+Chorus" (and any other settings). When you create the txt file, there will be ONE and only one semi-colon spaced to the right by one space - it will be on the effect "Ultra Clean+Chorus". The semicolon is mis-spaced to the right by one space. This is a purely cosmetic blemish that does not affect Cyber Commander's operation in any way, but it is a blemish we missed because of the automated tests we designed. I only caught this after pouring over ALL of the test results manually.

I agree, this one blemish would be real hard to find unless you tested the crap out of Cyber Commander. Anyways, this gives you an idea of how much we tested Cyber Commander and why there are no bugs, and why there were no new versions. You have a quality product in your hands that will never fail you no matter what the circumstances are - especially on stage -> you can load your settings in a mouse click or two. I have used Cyber Commander live to setup three SE's at the same time with my laptop, i use my cyber foot controller to do the actual controlling in real time, never had a "surprise". BTW, how to do this is covered in the Cyber Commander manual.

and the good news: that's the one and only blemish - it's too mickey-mouse to be called a bug.

Digital, software, etc, when it's well done (like anything else) is a pleasure to use. The one thing i really, really appreciate about Cyber Commander & the SEs are that they never, never "wear out". Their performance is rock-solid reliable & repeatable - you get to really appreciate "no surprises". Also, you can get at the tones within the SE so very, very easily and you see exactly what you have set with incredible precision. The SE has so very much to offer, you basically need Cyber Commander to see what's going on. Once you see, the fun starts as you explore. With Cyber Commander, you can save any of the settings and never loose "that special tone" once you've discovered it. And then you can return to it and get back exactly to where you left off and not have to worry about "aging" or relying on failing memory - digital data stays constant forever. This is a real advantage on stage - calling up a tone you know you want in a single foot controller button press. These are some of the really major reasons why i appreciate "digital" and "software".

And as for tones, I think the SE beats out anything else out there - it's a matter of setting up the SE(s) properly for the music you want to play. And don't let any urban myth bobo con you into thinking "solid-state" watts are not true watts, only tube watts are real watts. Take it from an engineer who has designed real equipment, Watts are Watts just like apples are apples.

ciao,
johnny.

I absolutely love the Roland JC120. I have a buddy who gigs, and he used to use his JC120 with a couple of pedals, but after someone did some extensive damage to it during a break, he has since bought a Frontman 212. He said that through his pedals that there is not a LOT of difference in sound. He thinks with a speaker change he will be closer to the tone he used to have.

I guess I will find out as I just brought home a Frontman 65, and have been looking into the pedals I want to complete my tone. Happy so far......

For the money, the Frontman amps are surprisingly good amps. I think though, the JC-120 is the better amp. I have had mine for over a decade, still a great amp by any measure - it's a keeper. And very, very roadworthy. If you gig, this is an important factor.

ciao,
johnny.
