For good quality, but inexpensive pedals, look at the Danelectro line...the Cool Cat series in particular.

Great bang for the buck there without sacrificing quality. What he said. I second Dano

The MXR Carbon Copy is very popular as far as delay goes.

As far as overdrive, with my DRRI I like the MXR Classic Distortion and the Demeter Fuzzulator.

My two cents:

- Don't worry too much about true-bypass unless you notice a problem.

- Use the "normal" channel for distortion to avoid the fizz.

love me some pedals. Collect them all is my mantra.

Oddly, I didn't like the Tube Screamer until I had it modded by Keeley Electronics.

since I've added a Radial A/B/Y switcher so I can use the Bandmaster, my Dr. Z Mini, or both.

Love the Timmy, and the Barber Direct Drive. The Timmy stays on all the time for just a bit of grit.

Delays- love the analog slapback of my original AD9 Delay, and for longer, the Boss DD6 does fine.

Want to swap out the MXR Phase 90 for the new micro Flanger, but my local dealer got 2 in and both were defective, so I'm waiting until he gets a good batch in to test it out with the pedalboard.

For harder distortion you could go with a Fulltone OCD, Radial tonebone classic or hot british (or if you've got the money; the trimode or plexitube).

For delay I've got the boss dd-3, it's alright for simple delays or whathaveyou, the dd-6 might be better if you need wacky stuff.

If you need a wah, you can't go wrong with a crybaby for the price.

The Nobels ODR-1 has knocked a few pedals off of my board. It has such a chunky low end; great for funky palm-muted riffs. They're cheap brand new and dirt cheap used (I found mine used for $25).

All of the Analogman pedals (http://www.analogman.com) are awesome as well. They're silver modded TS9s are killer (or the OD9s w/ true-bypass).

One pedal that I'd recommend to everyone is the RAF Mirage compressor by FX Engineering. I like a compressor to smooth everything out and add a sweetness to your tone without squashing the heck out of it, and the Mirage does that in spades, all without the "breathing" or "pumping" like other compressors. I leave it on all of the time.

Sorry it took so long to post! For some reason I couldn't sign in.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! I am definitely going to check some of these out.

Bad news about my DRRI, though. At around 3, the tubes start to rattle. Gonna have to exchange it for another one :?

Look into the Malekko brand too, I have their 616 delay pedal and I love it. For distortion I use the Fulltone OCD with a les paul into twin reverb, amazing. Chorus pedal is a MXR stereo chorus which is really rich and has many features that allow for fine tuning. Compressor, I use the mxr supercomp, nice pedal but thinking of replacing this with maybe a visual sound comp66 or electro harmonix. Don't know yet...

There are many great pedals out there being made by alot of great companies and individuals. Best advice, go out and try'em. What sounds good to me, may not sound good to you...

Good luck
