I have a little SCXD. I like it enough to re tube it. I am going to go with 2 (JJ) 6V6's & 1 (JJ) 12AX7. If any SCXD owners out there have had better performance from another brand of tube: please tell me what you're using. Thank You.

JJ/Tesla are some of the better bottles out there. They actually make their own tubes. I really like their 6V6's. I run the 6V6's in my Egnater and just had to replace an RCA 6V6 in my 74 Champ with a JJ for now. I'll probably look for a NOS 6V6 for the Champ, but I had a spare JJ laying around and popped it in. Sounds great.

I actually put in a set of NOS RCA 12AX7 and 6V6s...it was an incredible difference in sound. Nothing like really old RCA tubes..:)

Do you have any experience with Weber 10" Signature Alnico speakers? I have been advised that these speakers are a good choice for this 15 watt amp. Would you advise early or late breakup model? Thank you.

I do not personally own one but I've installed a couple for clients and a good friend in Sacramento has one in a '68 Princeton Reverb.

I think you'll find it an excellent upgrade for your SCXD.

The price is incredible too....but the RCAs are my favorites also.
I bought all the old NOS tubes I could find from the old tv/radio repair guys but they had been picked through heavily, but I did find some good ones.
