Philly in the '60s?!?!?

I thought you lived one block over from me in Sacramento, Supro?

Geez, there must've been five or six garage bands in my neighborhood where I grew up. I'll never forget the day I showed up to rehearsal with my first very own amp. My first Fender......a year-old '65 Deluxe. I had to tow it over in my little brother's "Radio Flyer" red wagon. What a hoot.....I think we played "Gloria" and "Secret Agent Man" for five hours straight!

G-L-O-R-I-A....Gloria!
and that killer lick to Secret Agent Man,Johnny Rivers was the epitome of cool back then....I saw him somewhere with his shades on the entire time he played.I always liked his version of Memphis better than Chuck's.

I think we had like eight or ten songs on our playlist back then. I don't remember them all but the roster included "The Last Time" (Stones), "Time Won't Let Me" (The Outsiders), "Dirty Water" (The Standells), "Catch Us If You Can" (The Dave Clark Five), "My Back Pages" (The Byrds) and The Turtles' version of "It Ain't Me Babe".

It became somewhat of an "epiphany" when Fresh Cream was released in December of '66 and we discovered it was perfectly legitimate to dime our amps and......indulge ourselves.

How about "Wipeout"??????? I wish I got paid piece work for that one. We hated that song after about our 3rd gig.LOL

It's sad, that so many young guy's get stuck playing one kind of music and looking like it's not fun. We had fun at every rehearsal and every gig. I had a blast doing the local club circuit, playing in a bunch of different bands and doing an occasional festival. Some of the clubs way back in Philly and NJ were huge. Gene's, The Empire Rock Club, The Woodbine fun stuff. We didn't stress over anything. The smaller clubs like the Chestnut Caberet, 23 East were all fun places to go hang out even if you weren't playing.

So yeah, two guitars into one amp is perfectly fine, but as for the, "1 is louder than input 2" Doesent it become the same if you have both inputs plugged in?

No. The best thing to do is put a single coil pup guitar in input #1 and a Humbucker guitar in #2. It sort of evens thing out that way. That's if the 2nd input is attenuated.
