I have a friend who is willing to sell me one new for about half the cost of a new one. Will this work for my DRRi? Is it worth it to upgrade? I mainly plays blues...

Thanx Mark

Should be fine as long as it's 8 ohm. It's rated at 30 watts too so it should be fine. I like Celestion speakers. I run two 12" Custom Elite 80's with my Egnater. They took a whole to break in, but man they're nice. Some Celestion's sound better in closed back cabinets but the Celestion Heritage Series G12M sounds great in both. I play with a couple guys who swear by them and for half the price seems like a good deal. Nothing to lose IMO.

A V30 would be a better choice but the G12M should tighten up your mids and low end just fine. Another option would be the now-discontinued G12L-35......they're quite punchy in a DRRI.

I have a V30 laying around and was thinking about putting it in my DRRI just to see what it would sound like, not that there's anything wrong with the way it sounds now... but then I noticed that the amp has 8 screws while the V30 has 4 holes, is there an easy way to do this without cutting the screws or drilling holes in the speaker? I have a feeling those are my only 2 options...
