From what I understand, it's based on a Deluxe Reverb.

CLick on this link and scoll down, Fender is launching a 22w version of the super-sonic, and has also revamped the 60w version with new script logo, changed the design to add more fat, and is suposedly a 2X12 version.

+1 Sounds like they either hot rodded or vintage molested the Deluxe Reverb.

Be careful around the "Flame Throwing" Burn Channel. LOL It's all cool if you like that sort of thing I guess. Personally I didn't really care for the Super Sonic's burn channel.

Well it looks like at least they have separate eqs,but I never understood the need to have the manufacturer decide what your overdrive sound should sound like. Its the same price as the deluxe reverb too.

It'll only be a matter of time until they double-hot-rod hot-rods because they're out of ideas.

Maybe they will come out with an amp that has a "hotrod " channel that cuts out on you in the middle of gigs just like the real ones do.

At least they'll be on familiar territory.

Just my opinion, but the burn channel sounds really muddy and undefined on the original.

True enough. It would give the "burn" channel a whole new meaning.Would come complete with welding shades. 8) per Arjays comment.

The only good distortion on a Fender amp is when you crank a Tweed or Blackface, they've been trying for years but they just can't seen to pull off a good gain channel. If you like your HRD gain channel fine. I have my fire retardant suit on just in case I get flamed for my comments. Even with a tube change, the drive channels are IMO mediocre at best. Crank an old Champ, Tweed Deluxe, or Deluxe Reverb or Princeton and you'll see what I mean.

It'll be interesting to learn which artist will step forward to endorse this latest and greatest......product.

Wow !! you guys finished ripping on this brand new item I'm sure none of you has tried ?

I had the original Super-Sonic combo (blonde) and for what it was , it sounded great !

I thought Fender did a great job giving the high gain peeps a shot, I found settings that were more than acceptable.

Now for me the tweed sound is what I like too, however there are many flavors and many tastes, My bet is that the gain structure in a 22 watt combo with most likely a vintage 30 is gonna make a lot of rockers pretty happy.

Why is it that every time Fender introduces something new there is a group ready to announce to the world why its bad way before they ever plug in ?

I'm looking forward to hearing from someone who has played through one, That will be fun !
