A green Ibanez tube screamer is one good one.

The Ibanez TS9 is an excellent pedal but I suspect you need something really quiet. For that situation you might consider one of the "modeling" devices with a decent amp simulator a la the Line 6 "Pod".

Go to cmatmods web site and check out the signa drive for all the sweet tone with no extra noise and a hand wired made in the USA pedal at under $130.00 shipped.

I got mine from my lovely bride (of 14 years) for my b-day and it is sweet !!!

A little toggle gives you three types of clipping, all of which are fantastic sounding and very different from each other.

No overdrive pedal is going to give you a authentic powerstage meltdown sound, not ever, not one of em. No matter how much they cost.

Get a attenuator, then your going to miss the cone cry of your speakers trying to cope with all the power the amps putting on em.

It's a dog eat dog world mate. The only real solution is to do away with the neighbours like Ted Bundy on crystal meth then max your amp.

Personaly I use a attenuator and have learnt to live without cone cry.
