I have been playing with my Hotrod deville for a while now and a problem has occurred. The more drive function is randomly coming on without me doing anything, this applies to both clean and dirty channels. I have though about replacing the tubes and see if this makes any different. I will take it to a tech but i thought someone out there could help, any advice?

The channel-switching function is performed by means of a set of diodes and relays. Merely changing tubes is not likely to cure this problem. Find a tech who knows the Hot Rod chassis architecture intimately and bring it in for servicing.

Best of luck, HTH

You just joined one of the fastest-growing "amp clubs" around.
