When the tubes went bad in my SRRI I decided to try a set of KT66s I had lying around since it'd be a couple days before I could get a pair of 6L6s.
The amp biased up fine and the sound was GREAT! I liked them a LOT more than 6L6s.
However, I'm not sure if they're safe to use with the Super (plate voltage etc.) so after a couple of days I put in a pair of JJ 6L6s. Sounded good, but can't get the KT66s out of my head.
So, I guess I'm taking a long time to ask, is it safe to run a pair of KT66s in my Super?

You shouldn't experience any problems using KT66s in place of 6L6GCs though I'd feel more comfortable using them in an amp equipped with a 5U4GB rectifier since the KT66 requires a skosh more heater current for optimum performance.

No matter, though -- bias them correctly and rock on.
