Because the Frontman 212R has no headphone jack, is there anyway to connect headphones?

I was renting a house and had no problems, but the house was sold and I am in a apartment now and the neighbors are complaining.

Maybe if I sounded better, they wouldn't complain? LOL!

Still, I want to be respectful, but I also want to use my Frontman.

Take a look at the Weber Headphone Tap. Although I have not used one, I have read that they work pretty good.

There may be others but that is the one that I have read about.

Hey trueblue, that's a cool device.
I passed over an amp for the 25R simply because of the headphone feature. I don't hear good. I don't have problems with volume and neighbors (as I also own a Blues Deluxe which I am guessing I could also use this on.) but this device looks like it would be the ticket to resolving that issue. Be sure to get high quality headphones.
Thanks for the link!!! :D
And thanks Gary for asking this question!! :D

Looking at the features and input and output jacks, I am led to believe that you can control the volume of the amp speaker and the headphone speaker simultaneously also... that "Line out" suggest you may be able to plug direct to mixer or computer as well..... if that is true... definitely COOL! I am a home recording hobbyist.

Please tell me I'm right and I'll be a happy clam!

Oops, I made a mistake! The Frontman is 100 watt and I think the Weber Headphone tap is limited to 50 watt. Sorry for the mistake.......

Dare I say it here?

I should have probably purchased the Line 6 Spider IV 75 75W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp, it would have saved me a headache.

I don't see why Fender couldn't have added a headphone jack to this amp...

I know it's a lot of power, and Fender probably just never thought of it being used as a practice amp, but there are times when you just need to keep things quiet.

Guess this thing will end up in storage and I will have to buy another amp with a headphone jack.

If it were me, I'd look at the multitude of 10 watt and under practice amps.

There's a boatload of them available... pretty nice prices on them too.

I too am surprised that Fender does not supply headphone out on all of their amps. My 50 watt tube VOX does have headphone out but the volume is so terribly low as to make it almost useless. I had intended on buying the Frontman 212R but the lack of a headphone jack turned me away so I ordered a little Frontman 25R to practice with BUUUUUUT it is backordered until August so I bought a Fender G-DEC 3 thirty watt and I am pleased with it.

When I bought the G-DEC I was intending to try out the Line 6 and the Peavey Vypyr at Guitar Center but did not get the chance to. Firstly, the place was a mess with empty boxes and wrapping all over the floor so that it was hard to move around. Secondly, and this was the clincher, the G-DEC 3 30 watt amp was tagged with the wrong price. It should have been $399 but it was tagged with $259 (the same price as the outdated model). I took it straight to the counter, paid and left. Not only did I get it for $140 less than the online price, but I used a store credit I had so that I did not have to pay a cent.

I still think that the Frontman 212R is a great amp. Maybe Fender could advise you about a Headphone tap or something similar for it. It couldn't hurt to ask!

It looks like it would! I would call them just to make sure though. By the way, how do you like the Superchamp?

Dont want to hijack threard but i think its a great amp. Makes me want to play more than ever. Only couple of things i dont like. No headphone jack. Why Fender would leave a headphone jack off a practice amp is beyond me. All or nothing volume controls. Im looking to maybe attenuate mine to try and get a bit more control. And finally some of the high gain amps models are a bit hissy and glassy. But high gain is not my style of play anyway so they dont matter. For the blues/rock stuff i play its the best in the market at this price range bar none imho.

Oh I totally agree... A real power house at a cheap price!

garypalys:

I emailed Fender Support about the lack of headphone capability on the amps (I to would like to know). I will post their reply when I receive it..

I have a 25R and love using the headphone jack for practice when I don't want to bother the family. It's a great little amp and works well with pedals. There are a ton of these available used at real reasonable prices. I have 8 or 9 Fender Amps in my personal collection and the larger amps don't get much use. My 212R and Stage 160 DSP don't accept headphones and really are too large to drag out for practice. Even with the casters on the Stage 160 DSP it's tough manuvering around. The 15G and 15R also have headphones as does the 15DSP and I've seen them all over for $25 or so. I actually purchased about 30 of these and a few other Fender amps for less than $50 total for the 30. Repaired a few and gave some other away. Keep the 212R for playing but pick up a 25R, 15R or one of the others used. A friend just picked up a 65R with headphone jack used for $60. They are out there and you really do not have to have a new one just for practice.
