Does anyone know if there's currently a mod published or sold somewhere, to make the reverb on an early US Blues Deluxe work with a foot switch like it does on the Blues Deluxe Reissue? Picked up the US model, and love the sound, but it would be great to be able to switch the reverb on and off with a foot switch!

Hi,

I never saw such official mod. Howerer I saw a possible huge mod on forum: a little PCB and modified jack (2 ways + GND) that you can do yourself if you have technical skills (equivalent circuit to RI). I'm going to find it back, I will inform you.
Nevertheless, it is not really clean.

I found back but it is in french:

See Loctit comments (I will translate):
salut (hi),
pour le switch sa marchera pas (for the swith it won't work)!!!
il te faut créer une nouvelle prise jack (u have to make a new jack), moi je l'ait mise a coté de celle du hp (I did close to the speaker jack), tu relie pas la masse (don' connect the gnd), elle se fait au chassis (it is direct to the chassis) et l'autre cosse tu la relie en dessou du potard de reverb (for the other connection, connect over the pot), tu as une resistance R41 et audessus une autre resistance (there is ar resistor R41 and another one (probably a capacitor)), tu soude un fil a la droite de cet resistance (you solder at the right size) et tu le conecte a la prise jack (you connecte the wire to the jack), ensuite un footswitch standard (the connect a footswith with the return to the ground) (blabla ...)et c partie bravo
c'est vraiment tout con a faire

Personnally I would suggest between R40 (470K) and R39 (1.5 K), it is like this in the RI.
By the way, don't use Fender footswitch but a switch to GND, use guitare wires.

:P :? :)

Thanks very much for the help (Merci beaucoup!).

I've decided to probably just live with it as is. I sometimes run the amp with my DRRI, so I have the reverb switchable on one. I was sort of hoping there was a common mod that would make it work just like the BDRI, as I'd accidentally bought the proper switch for that amp, but it seems that may not be an option. I guess the two may be more different than I'd realized. Hearing of the reliability issues with these, I may end up with a spare anyway, maybe I'll get a reissue and make this one the spare (presuming the sound is similar, this one sounds killer!).

Thanks again for the effort :!:
