Turn it up as loud as you can and cut loose some searing rock'n'roll.

In all seriousness though, you have acquired a great amplifier. To make a good Fender amp sound awful is no small task; many high-end models sound great out of the box and will still be pumping out fantastic sounds in forty years. My best advice is to play around with it -- and you have plenty of features to fiddle with -- until you find some sounds you like!

I have 2 of these amps. One was bought in 2003* (new), the second was was bought last year (a 2005 model* in "mint condition") the previous owner only gigged with it 2 - 3 times.

It took me a while to get them "dialed in" to my liking. I did some upgrades to both amps last spring: new JJ tubes, Eminence Cannabis Rex speakers, and I re-biased both amps a little "hotter". These amps tend to be a little "shrill/"ice pick to the ears" out of the box, but once the CRs broke in, both amps fattened up considerably (a little "darker" sounding).

In spite of these amps being really heavy (70+ lb.), if I ever get the chance to play out again, these will be my "go to" amps!

* 50 watt - single speaker version.

Great amps that take a licking, but keep on ticking! :wink:
