Been playing and am getting into alot of the nice sounds coming out of it.
Anyone know who is supplying the speaker for this amp?
I have to say that for an 8" speaker, the tones clean through overdriven are handled very well. Not easy to do.
Is Mercury Magnetics supplying the trannys in this amp?
I wonder because of the amps ability to get the tones without getting tired.

I'm happy and very pleasantly suprised by this amp.

Hey, Ditch Gator! This is the only Mercury tranny I know anything about:

Don't think it's a Mercury Magnetic Tranny. The amp is way too inexpensive.

After visiting Mercury Magnetics website I agree.
Those trannys are close to what the amps costs!
However, while I was there, I took the opportunity to email those folks and ask them if they have considered an upgrade package for this amp as they had done with Alan Cyr's ideas with the Champion 600.
I'm not a solder sniffer to any degree, so I don't know if a hybrid amp (as the Vibro Champ is) can have an upgrade done.

Anyone know where Fender is having this 8" speaker manufactured?
Has anyone tried out a 8" or 10" Tone Tubby speaker in theirs yet?

I do not know who "jady" is at Billm website, but I have to say that their setting labled "chicago blues" is one of my favorites.
There are a few different settings from different players that may appeal to others of you, if you haven't already visited that website.

Anyway, I really am having fun with this amp.

Well Sir

I too am happy with my vibrochamp XD. It's a great home or you and a.n.other jam amp.

All I can say about your liking of the single 8" speaker is..... Wait till you plug it into a 4x12. Man it's a different amp altogether. I'd like to hear it with a couple of 10"s. I reckon that would be a hell of a lot of amp on the first setting.

I don't have a 4x12 but I do have an old Roland JC50 w/ a 1x12 (not original).
I have no idea as to what brand it is as it isn't labeled.

Leaving the 1x12 in the Roland combo cab, I just untethered the Vibros 1x8 speakerwire from inside of its cab and hooked it up to the 1x12.
The wire was long enough to stack the XD ontop of the JC.
The JC has a closed back and I left it that way.
Next time I mess with it I'll try it again with the JC as an open back because with it closed the sounds are just too dark and muffled.

After rereading some old ToneQuest Reports (excellent  ), I came across an article about compressors.
Having an old MXR DynaComp I confiquered my guitar>VS1 tuner>DynaComp>Vibro-ChampXD.
I was looking for more gain from the pedal as the compression from the XD is already there.
The results were very nice. :D
I did wind up using some extra squish on a few of the heavier distorted voices just for fun and was rewarded with sustain for days!. 8)
I have decided to leave the DynaComp hooked up to the XD from now on.
It adds some nice colors. :)
