Does anyone here know of a link to a list of Fender amps past to present.I'm hoping for at least brief details as well (tube/solid state/hybrid,wattage,tube types etc.).I recently purchased a Blues Deluxe & although I like the sound of it I may return it in favor of a more reliable used amp (I know, sounds kinda strange, dunnit?).Problem is,I'm pretty new to Fender amps & Fender kinda has a habit of re-using the same names for so many different amps, tube & ss,it's hard to tell what's what when looking for something not currently in production. There are so many "Twin's", "Deluxe's", "Princton's", "Bassman's" etc...& all I want is just a nice all tube Fender combo w/ a clean-ish,just starting to break up sound at gig volumes that I can afford.

Here's a Fender amp timeline http://www.fender-amp.com/timeline.asp but it only goes up to 1996-1997.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fender_Amplifiers
http://www.ampwares.com/
The Soul of Tone is an excelletn resource for all Fender amps http://books.google.com/books?id=MZIYFy ... &q&f=false

or just google "Fender amplifier history" http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&sour ... =&gs_rfai=

I don't know what you can afford because you don't state your budget, but I would reccommend a '65 Deluxe Reverb Reissue based the description of what you want the amp to sound like. Used ones can be had for around $500-$700 depending on condition.

Trust me, you can afford a Deluxe Reverb re-issue.

For a skosh more "grunt" than the DRRI's 22 watts, try the Super Reverb re-issue.

Ok,lets say I get a DRRI & it isn't loud enough, can I run an ext cab along w/ the internal spkr & what ohm rating would I need for the ext.I looked at the manual & am kinda confused how to match ohms for it as there appears to be no selector switch. Is it 2x8=16 in series & 2x8=4 in parallel,or do I have it backwards,& in either case how would I get the amp to "see" 8?A flogging for stupidity may be warranted but better that than frying a new amp.
