Hello
Just brought home a brand new 65 Deluxe Reverb AMP and noticed a hum - only on the Reverb Channel. All POTS can be down to 1 and it's the REVERB only that is up.
It gets louder or lower as I turn up or down the Reverb knob - even though Volume is down to 1.
Before I take it back, is this common?
Is it something I can fix without major overhaul?
Hum goes away if I switch off reverb via foot peddle or lower reverb to 1.

The music store is over an hour away.
Thanks
Art

You just paid several hundred dollars for a brand-new amp.

Take it back and exchange it -- let it be someone else's problem.

Yeah Art, I'm with Arjay on this. If all the tubes are snug in their sockets and the reverb cable plugs are also tight at the tank and at the rear of the amp, then the shop should swap you a non humming amp ! Art

I too just bought a brand new deluxe reverb.... I am must be lucky because I am having no issues... Seems like this amp (although its a wonderful sounding amp) has quite a few issues even brand new...

I bought mine for $850 new in box from Guitar Center... Y'all may not like guitar center but at least they have a great return policy..

Got mine for $850 NIB from GC few days ago, traded it in another amp, so I got 15% off... my problem was minor, rectifier tube, already replaced and I cant get enough of this amp! I got 30 days, if any other problem surface it's going back, simple.

Art, please keep us posted, if you cant figure it out just take it back and get a new one. Good luck!

Hi All, Sorry it took me a while to reply - had a personal situation.
Anyway - I couldn't figure it out - so my local Music store took it back and gave me another and it's very quite - no hum.

Again - thanks ! Best advice was to exchange it!

Return It. I never brought an amp home in the box. I always play the snot out of it with my guitar before I take it out of the store.
