Help,
I have a 94' Twin.
I installed a new power switch. There is AC at the switch, but the amp will not come on.
The power switch has four male slip tabs. Two to a side. Shouldn't the two whites connect on one side and the blacks on the other? I forgot to write it down.
It's just a DPST.
Any ideas? Please help.
You can send any helpful info and thoughts to my email address..kracked@swbell.net
Thanks very much.
The Tube Dude!

Black to Black, White to White
On most switches there is a divider that separates the poles (switches).
You should really confirm this yourself with a multimeter with it out of the amp not connected to power.

Don't kill yourself. Amps have dangerous voltages.
If you can't hook up a switch then you really shouldn't be playing with it.

Yeah tube dude, a continuity test of the switch will show how it's divided and that it is functioning correctly( amp unplugged). Then another continuity test from the swtich to the PT primary side, for each leg, should let you know how that circuit is working(amp unplugged). Welcome to the forum ! Don't know your electonic experience. So I'll just say "Be Careful". Oh yeah, I've done that many times, thinking "I'll remember how this goes back together". Art

Hey people thanks!
How does one acquire info on the voltage reading for this Twin.
Where the black and white come out of the transformer to the board, I tested each leg. Meter on AC, one lead in the slip connect and one lead to the
male tab on the board. I have voltage on each. Black and white. What should it be?..I don't know.
I pulled off the two brown connects and got one at 13v and the other at 21 or so.
I tested also for voltage on the heater side of the tubes and got zero.
Then checked for voltage in the cap pan.....not sure what each side of each cap should be reading.
I have tested several points and get readings and still it will not power up.
The power lamp has no voltage to it. I even tested for filament voltage and get zero. If the filament transformer is bad will that keep it from powering up?

Here's a silly question...Does the reverb need to be plugged in, in order for the amp to work? I don't think so.
People I am really stumped!
Thanks to those who fed me the info.
HELP!!!!! The old Tube Dude.
Have a good weekend! Be safe!
PEACE
