I have this frontman 15G amp that has nothing but static on it. It only happens when a guitar cord is plugged into the imput jack even if it isn't plugged into a guitar. There is no sound at all if the cord in not in it. It happens on both normal and drive equally. And when I have my guitar plugged in there is no sound from it, only the static. I took off the back and everything looks great. No broken wires or anything like that. Also, there are two red led lights just under the drive switch that are not lighting up. Does that mean anything?
I'm new to playing guitar so this amp, which I got from someone who told me the problem, is new to me as well. Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Is there anyone out there that knows about these little amps?

Try removing the chassis and then take the PC board off of the metal frame. Have a look at the PC board traces near the input jack. I have found that this is the weak point on these amps. I purchased about 20 of these that were warrantee returns and found over half had breaks in the traces. An ohm meter will help if you have trouble seeing any cracks in the traces. The breaks tend to occure where the jack terminal is soldered to the board. What I do is solder a bridge (wire) over the breaks. Good luck.
