Hi,

I don't seem to be getting any output from the SPDIF jack into my Echo Layla 3G's SPDIF input jack...I got the amp about a month ago, and only recently tried the SPDIF output. This is a MAJOR bummer as I intended to use this as a recording amp sans miking...Is there any way to tell if the amp is the problem, and if so, what could be done to repair it? It's probably too heavy (expensive) to ship to Fender, and I don't know if an amp repair guy would be familiar with the digital output. I've tried using the utility button and alternating between SPDIF patching guitar direct out and amp line out, but get no sound with either...The rest of the amp functions great and I would love to record these STELLAR tones I'm hearing!

Have you tried another SPDIF output from a different device to see if that works?

There may be service agents near you and if they have ever worked on a SPDIF problem they will have a cable and something to test it on. I'm sure they have come across it especially if they do home audio as well.

yea, that's the most obvious way, unfortunately I don't have any other SPDIF devices...may pick up a cheapie digital preamp box, like a digitech with a SPDIF just to see if it's not my soundcard...I didn't know if putting a digital meter to the output jack of the cyber twin would tell me anything , but it was also a thought...

Don't you have a DVD player with SPDIF out? You might have to enable it in the menu of the DVD player if you do (mine does).

Is your meter able to read digital signals? Or is it just a digital display multimeter? A digital oscilloscope would work as long as you know what to compare it to. But I think its easier just plugging another device in.
