I think it depends on the guitar you are using. I've been trying a lot of pedals lately with my Tele, Strat and Les Paul through 65DRRI. Here's what I like:

Boss Blues Driver with Keeley Mod - nice warm overdrive but a little too fizzy - still good

TS9 with Keeley Mod - classic that I like for leads

Zendrive - similar to TS9 with single coils - but much broader & warmer with my Les Paul. It's a nice pedal

MXR Distortion III - really nice all around distortion. Seems much broader than the previous versions.

Marshall Bluesbreaker II - this is my current favorite. I find it really smooth and warm sounding and I get good clarity. Sounds good on all my guitars and is the one I've been taking to gigs.

Marshall Guvnor - I think mine must be defective because I can't get a decent sound out of it and the reviews were great. So I'll reserve real judgement on that.

Digitch Bad Monkey - I love this overdrive. Cheap, not noisy and has a cool sound. Sounds cool with all guitars

I use a Danelectro Daddy O with my 65 Deluxe RI, and it works great. It gives the amp the push it needs for solos or climaxes. Otherwise, I run the amp clean on the vibrato channel. The only other effect I use is a Crybaby wah. These amps soung great. It is the best I have ever had or heard, but I have just ordered a 65 Super Reverb, because I need more volume with my band.
