hey, general amp question here...i got two amp heads (fender dual showman, peavey classic 50) i got a 4x12 for cheap, but its too big to move around. If I run it throught a 1x12 is it in stereo or mono? is it the same with a 2x10 or 2x12?
thanks

Your question is a little confusing by how you worded it.

If you have a stereo amp or two amps you can setup a stereo speaker setup. To do this you need to either split the guitar input into stereo or use another method to channel an input off the first amp into the second.

Normally all cabs will be wired mono. That is one input in the back of the cab running to all the speakers to match the desired impedance.

If you want to wire if differently you can. If the cab is stereo or has additional inputs or outputs to slave another cab it will normally be marked on the back or you can refer to the specs of the cab itself or take a look inside.

Never plug two amps into the one speaker unless it is distinctly and purposely wired to accept another input (and NOT just an input and a loop output). You could damage an amp or speaker trying this.

You also have to consider airflow in a cabinet. Having an enclosed cabinet and one speaker grinding away and another echoing on a delay with a dual(stereo) amp setup is not good. Better to have separate cabs and can sound better to have different speakers/voicings tone wise.

You also need to make sure your speaker is rated above your amps peak output wattage. Or you should if you want to play the amp wide open.
This is important when buying a cab and often overlooked.

Hope that covers what your asking.

thanks for the response.
Sorry for the confusion. I was tired while posting the topic. haha

Well, you answered my question,so thank you.

I've always been a combo amp type of guy.
The deals for the heads were to good to pass up though.

Thanks again.
