So I already own a DRRI and I think it's the cleanest ~20watt amp I have ever heard... So what other Fender amps have this same clean tone.... Any other non-fender amps that produce a clean tone like the DRRI ?

I think you already have the best :)

Another amp to consider is the Blues Deluxe, I have a 94 and it has great clean with plenty of headroom. For non Fender clean I have a Mesa Lonestar Special, works great with single coil, specially a Strat, one of the best I've heard.

Next on my list is a DRRI, it seems whenever I go to a guitar store if they have one I always test guitars by plugging into one of them, so I think it's time I get one! I'm hoping it'll be in the next couple of days...

A deluxe reverb is basically a fender twin without a middle knob

Not really. I find it quite a different beast entirely. The cleans are quite a bit more articulate on a Twin. There's a bit of a difference between 6V6 and 6L6 power tubes too.

Basically any of the silverface amps, the blackfaces, and the blackface re-issues will get you "clean". For dirt though, you'll need pedals.

Have you ever looked at the schematic of these amps, they are pretty much the same except the deluxe does not have a middle knob

Right you are, Supro.

Just as with the EL84/6BQ5, the 6V6 has its own unique character which is sonically distinctive from a 6L6.

A lot of amps are "pretty much the same" but sound way different. The original Mesas were Princetons but hot rodded. I know what I own and what I have owned and a Deluxe Reverb is nothing like a Twin. I own a Twin and have owned Deluxe Reverbs. They sound nothing alike. Did you look at all the values of every component and the voltages? The power and output trannies? It goes way further than a middle control.

I have to disagree... they do sound similar... For me the only difference is the Twin has a bunch more headroom... If you can tell the difference between the two, I have to commend you for your wonderful hearing...

It's true that the blackface amps have a familial tone. Leo designed them all with that thought in mind. But it's how they sound when you "spank" them that each model really shows its colors.

After one plays these things for thirty or forty years like many of us here, it becomes less of a challenge to discern the differences.

It's the subtle breakup in the DR that makes them so different. I have Tinnitus and I can still hear the difference. Two twelves also makes them sound way different too. The big thing here is breakup. The Twin won't at any respectable level and the DR will just because of the big wattage difference and type of power tubes it uses. I have a 76 SF Twin, rated at 100 watts. I never had a BF Twin. There lies the big difference.
Push a DR it breaks up in an amazing way. Push a Twin and your ears bleed. Headroom make a huge difference in tone so does how much air is being moved by how many speakers, cabinet size and type of speakers and so on. Try putting a pedal steel through a DR. It'll sound nothing like a Twin.

Ampeg VT-22.

If you want it to break up you had better be living in an earthquake-proof house.

The Ampeg J20 is really nice too plus it's hand wired and really affordable. Stay clean pretty far up the dial.
