mike

mine arrives in 2 days.
man i cant wait either.
my only thought is to which guitar
do i start to break it in with?
the amp has a delta labs stomp box
coming with it, but i will soon switch to a
OCD V3. i have found this amps tone is
best served up via a
amp stand, so im off tomorrow to get one.

I know man Im pumped, just got to tell food city to give me some extra hours. I hear it's loud enough to do small gigs with and can still be quiet enough for bedroom practice

Every time I plug mine, I remember exactly why I bought it in the first place. I also made the secret oath to never regret my purchase. :) I can't have a louder amp. I don't want to carry a heavier amp around. I don't need an amp coming with fourty differents amps sounds spanning the entire history of guitar amplification. I like the sound of the Blues Junior and I can build on it and shape it to suit my needs and my moods using different guitars and a few pedals, not fifty guitars and seventy different stomp boxes. But hey, it's just me, and I respect the choices of other forum members because I learn a lot from them.
Irishmike, you made an excellent choice but don't make the mistake to buy it without trying it first. :) There is too much quality gear out there to buy something and regret it two weeks after. Since I bought my tolex BJ two years ago, I had the opportunity to try the tweed BJ and the reliced BJ and I don't feel like changing anything in my set up. Good luck with your amp choice. :)

Some wellspoken advice, thanks friend, is the blues jr. capable of being quiet enough for bedroom practice?

Yes Mike, you can dial both the Master and Volume to make it whisper or scream, both with caracter and quality sound. But for some weird reason, my wife find my BJ to be too loud all the time. Anyways, as I said, try before you buy. :)

If you can bring a friend along, you could let him play a while and listen from a few feet away, sometimes it gives a better perspective. :) Also you could consider buying the pedal switch for the "fat" circuit, it is worth it. :)

Hmmm what exactly does FAT circuit mean? Is it just like an overdrive channel?

Yup, it gives you something like an overdrive boost for solos. (Sorry for any missused words, I am not an amp tech). :)

Alright I will look into the switch, I think my guitar center is running a sale where it is included so that would be a plus for me, but it will be a few weeks for me to save up the money, as Im just a teenager haha

Mike, you are not "just a teenager", you are a "teenager" and as most of the regular folks, you have to think twice before spending the hard earned money. I think that you are doing all the smart moves before spending a few hundred bucks and as long as you are bringing them your business, you are the boss, not them. Keep us posted and good luck. :)
