My 2203KK has become really trebley. The amp uses 4x KT88's and 3x 12ax7s. I've switched these round a good bit and currently have old brimars and a mullard in there. Currently I'm having to set the eq with the bass on full, mid on 9 and treble on zero. I'm running it into a nice deep 4x12 cab, It's about 16"/400mm deep. The speakers are two G75's and two Vintage 30's. On anything less than 8 on the master it's thin as paper sounding. Could the bias have slipped that far over a year?

Anyone got any ideas? My old 4211 doesnt sound so trebley and thats EL34's and a 2x12 cab. The 4x12 is great at fattening up anything, even my vibrochamp XD

2203 kk ? It's a marshall !

After a year, yes tubes could need new bias, because tube change .
A cold bias give thin, trebbly soud.

It's the first thing to check.

Too new to be the filter caps and if the tubes are good, I'd agree and check the bias which could have drifted.

Yeah I'm going up to the drummers to check it out tomorrow. It's plaguing my brain at the moment.

I'll be seeing whether theres a bright cap on the gain control, as I never use much preamp gain out of it.

Thankyou fella's, muchos gracias.
