The young players today might start out with a Frontman 15 and then move up to a Blues Jr or a HRD amp. Seems very few go the DRRI route. Not enough bells and whistles I guess

There is a progression in a person's growth in music. Nobody automatically knows anything until they learn it. This is not personal to me, but I find it unfair and not in the spirit of this forum to rag on people's stuff. Young people get what they can afford or what their early growth leads them to. As experienced leaders, you can teach them and advise them, but your best advise is often unavailable to new guys. For instance, they can't afford a $1000 DRRI, so they take what they can get. Used is often not an option. The only one I've found in months sold for $1000.

I know a woman who is brutally frank, to the point of rudeness. If pressed, she says "Well, I'm just telling the truth."

Finally, do you remember when a young guy, maybe you, got a new car and excited took it to show it to everybody he knew? I'll bet nobody said the Corvette is a better car. Yours is cheap junk. Etc. True, but rude.

Your partners said "Wow, great car!" And it was, really.

I had a brand new 1975 Chevy Vega, I never got Wow great car. I got made fun of constantly. Where do you wind it up? I was using my Bandmaster when everybody else was using 300 watt Ampeg amps and multiple Marshall heads. Got ragged on again. I didn't cry about it. The thing is, a HRDlx isn't a cheap amp. For a $150 more I found an amp that was a whole lot better. My glory days are long over but for the times I gig I need something reliable.

I wish someone warned me about the problems with the HRDlx. I would have steered clear. No one rags on anyone's personal equipment. When I see what some of these 14 and 15 year old kids are playing I'm amazed. The kid either has a good job or Mom and Dad have deep pockets. My first electric was a 63 Supro that I still own that my Dad bought used. Most of my friends were playing SG's and Mustangs. A used DRRI is cheaper and better than a new HRD series amp. Built better, sounds better and is a better value. We tell the truth, but we can't make anyone believe it unless they're willing to believe it.

LOL, Nah It's a great guitar. The Vega was a piece of garbage. It was the HRDlx of automobiles. Very unreliable and burned oil like 5 watt power resistors in the HRDlx.
I'm nice. I can be helpful too. I learn from my mistakes and pass the information on. Some members even email me directly so I can't be that scary. :D

LOLOL!

My wife's first car was a '75 Vega sedan. It was the "POFS" edition too -- 140 cube 'iron duke', AC, turbo-hydramatic tranny, 2.40 axle and aptly painted in chickenshit yellow. It literally couldn't get out of its own way......I could tow it faster on a trailer in my Z28 than it could motivate on its own.

You've heard of the Frank sisters haven't you? One of them was Frank one week, and the other was Frank the next.
