I have noticed both the NOS and the standard versions of the Blues Junior now have metal bars covering the entire opening for the tubes. Why where these bars added? What problem are they supposed to address or remedy? I never had any problems without them. What gives?

Nothing sinister. Just there to protect the valves. And maybe to keep enquiring hands and fingers off hot valves..

still dont see why they dont incorporate a heat vent up top...then again i guess alot of fender amps dont have it. but still....come on

glad to hear about the bars. i was actually thinking of putting a piece of screen or chickenwire there myself.
