Hello my fellow Fenderites,

I play through a 4x10 Hot Rod Deville. I've had the eq section wortked on for a sweeter overall tone, had the gain rolled back a tad for a smoother climb in volume, and swapped the 4 stock 10 inch speakers for 2 Jensen Jet Series Blackbirds, and 2 Tornados. I've got that amp sounding fanastic!!!! I just got myself a 1 x12 extention cab from a used shop and am planning to use it with the amp. My question is; Can the amp except a 8ohm extension cab? Right now the amp has it's four 10 inch speakers all rated at 8ohms, the speaker in the cab is a 12 inch speaker rated at 8ohms as well. Can I just plug it in or do I need to change the ohm setting?

Thanks,
The Black Crayon

Are you planning on bypassing internal speakers and using the cab speaker only? If so, put the amp on the 8 ohms setting and just plug in the cab.

According to the schematic......

You shouldn't have any problems using the internal speakers and the extension cab simultaneously.

Yes I am planning to use both the internal speakers and extension cab at the same time. So I will be able to plug in and be fine right?

As long as the minimum-impedance protocols are followed, yes.
