I have a BDRI that I bought new in 2008. It doesn't get used a whole lot and has never been gigged or even been outside the house since I brought it home. Over the past couple of weeks, I have noticed that it "pops" when I put the on/standby switch to standby. This doesn't happen every time, maybe like 1 in 4-6 times. I have always tried to make sure that the guitar volume is at 0-1 in case that might be causing this to happen.

Is this normal or something to be concerned about? I am very aware of the questionable reliablity of the Hot Rod series and I have had zero issues with this amp. I am not paranoid (well, maybe a little). :?

Thanks,
Jim

Based on your post and not testing, I'm guessing a bad socket. It may need to be re-tensioned.

Thanks Mike! So probably a trip to an amp tech is warranted then?
