A couple of the major internet music stores are listing a "Fender Super Sonic 22 combo" in black or tweed for $999.99. Anybody know anything about this?

This is news to me. A low powred Supersonic perhaps?..hmmm...interesting. C'mon Fender, what's the scoop?

Musician's Friend's website lists the current Supersonic as being in "Limited Quantity" . It would appear that the current Supersonic is being replaced by a new version.

I wouldn't be surprised if this new 22 combo turns out to be a super sonic model based on the 65 22w deluxe reverb, and 50's tweed deluxe. Many folks loved the super sonic concept and tonç, but the 60 watts "stadium" super-sonic turned many experienced players away from it. I am a home player and love my 60 watts beast, and managed the volume via EQ pedals.

MF has rhe super sonic on clearance:

I can see a 22w version killing sales of the 60w...

Sounds like a very cool amp for home or small gigs. If it is U.S. made like the "Deluxe Reverb Reissue" I'm in!
