I just got a Super Champ XD and it sounds good on all voices, except there's a serious hiss when I play anything on the Acoustic voice (the 16th setting). A couple other voices hiss, but only on a couple individual notes, usually around the 5th to 10th frets on the middle strings. Any idea what could be causing this? I re-tightened all the screws, but it's such a specific problem I'm totally out of ideas. Thanks if you can be any help at all.

Have you tried changing the positions of the treble/bass toggle? And I trust you've tried changing the gain setting when you are on acoustic setting?
I just brought home a Super Champ XD and am just now learning about it, but I haven't experienced what you are describing on the acoustic setting. Good luck. I will be curious to hear what the problem was. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, it's definitely not the bass/treble or gain settings. The acoustic channel always sounds bad, but the other problem (which may or may not be related is a... I guess "rattle" is the best word for it, that comes with certain notes on any channel. Here's the weird, weird, result I just found while messing around. Most notes sound fine, but the following are accompanied by a rattle when I play them:

E-string, seventh fret (b)
A-string, second fret (b)
G-string, fourth fret (b)
D-string, tenth fret (b)
B-string open fret (b)
E-string seventh fret and nineteenth fret (b) sound fine

They're all B's, and yet the high B's sounds fine. I have a similar issue with D's. I don't know if it's the amp, the guitar (I've heard it could be the input jack), or a combination that's causing this. I'm going to have to take it in, obviously, but I'm bringing both to a friend's place tomorrow to play his guitar through my amp and vice-versa to see if I can isolate the malfunctioning piece of equipment.

This is a weird one. Let me know what the shop says, and good luck.

I have a VOX AD50VT that gives me a rattle (almost like a buzzing note) on the Low E string at the 5th and 6th fret. Thinking of course that it was the guitar, I took it to a tech. After having a fret level/setup done it still did it. I took the guitar back to the tech twice but it still did it. I bought a Fender G-DEC 3 this week and it does NOT do it on the new amp. I too am at a loss as to the cause.
