my CT has all sorts of presets....not one that is clean, even the vintage stack or champ presets have some sort of echo or delay or reverb

I assume CT = Cyber Twin. Edit the presets you want to turn all of the effects off and then save it. Check the manual. http://support.fender.com/manuals/manua ... nglish.pdf

Those cheesy presets are one of the reason I avoid modelling amps. The manufacturer always thinks more is better and every preset is a high gain effects laden, overly processed tone that just ends up sounding like mud.
