Bit of a tube amp novice, but I just picked up a Deville 410 and was wondering what would happen if I unplugged the speaker of my little 5W Champion 600 and plugged into the speakers of the 410.

Like I said, I'm a bit of a novice and the 410 offers all sorts of inputs and outputs that have me curious and of course the owners manual is really only good for learning how to say "Thank you for buying a Fender amp" in 10 languages.

So any tips on configuration dos and don't would be incredibly helpful.

Thanks.

It's fun to use a little amp like the Champ 600 as a head into a larger speaker cabinet. The larger speakers and cab make the little guy sound HUGE. The Champ 600 has a 4 ohm speaker, so as long as the speakers in your Deville total 4 ohms you're OK. It should list the ohms in your manual. Fender has manuals in PDF form on this website, but the one for the Deville 410 won't open I keep getting an error message.

Thanks for the tips. The last thing I want to do is blow it all up.

Rule of thumb is you can use higher ohm rated cabs or speakers but never less . With higher such as 8 or 16 you will lose some performance but it is safe. Its always best to match the ohms rating though. So in your case dont use a 2 ohm rated cab or speaker.
