I have a Hot Rod deluxe with bad input jacks, so I ordered the Torres jack replacement kit and the told me now that it won't work with my amp because apparently I have a newer hot rod. Can someone explain to me how to wire in a switchcraft jack? I have them with three posts and also the regular two-post mono jack.
The jacks I took out are connected to the circut board in 4 places so maybe I need a 4 post jack? ..and yes all 4 posts are part of a circut, the 4th one isn't for mounting.

Any help is appreciated... I need to fix it quick I have a gig in a few days. Thanks- Griff

Welcome.

I presume you state these input jacks are 'no good' as they've all worked their terminals loose from the circuit board. Actually, they can be rehabilitated: Solder a small piece of stranded wire to the bottom of each loose jack's terminal and mating place on the circuit board together and then cut the excess wire. Once accomplished, these joints will never come loose again!

A trick we used to do at the repair shop is to run a bead of silicone around the edges of the jack (where the jack meets the pc board).

Chances of the jack pulling away from the board and puling the traces from the board is eliminated.
