I recently bought a USA 2001 Blues Jr (Tolex model) used from a pawn shop...In general i really like the amp...Although i do not find it as versatile as my mid 80's 50 watt Marshall JCM 800 combo...

With that said for a straight blues tone i find it better than the Marshall..Then i had a chance to try out another Blues Jr that was a tweed deluxe edition..With the upgraded speaker..It sound even another notch above the one i own..
From what i understand the only difference is the speaker...The tweed version uses a Jensen were mine has a Fender something or other in it...
So before buying the Jensen speaker i thought i would ask if others have replaced there speakers in there Blues Jr and what they used..
I generally i play blues and Blues based rock..Mostly what i would call hot electric blues...Does anyone have any suggestions which speaker would be best to upgrade with???

Here is a small thread that Chet talked about his speaker upgrade on his Blues Jr.
http://www.fender.com/community/forums/ ... k+speakers

Do a search using the words listed above and a lot of info to read on blues jr. speakers.
Hope that helps

I'll suggest an Eminence Texas Heat.

Are all a very close second...I think i'm going to go with the Texas heat but please keep the comments coming

Which model would you suggest?
I'm looking for something that would do better with making the highs sound less tinny and the lows more pronounced the the stock blues Jr speaker...I m basically a blues player so is there any model Scumback you would suggest?

With my custom 2x12 combo Blues Jr I'm using an M75 and an H75. I'm thinking an M75 if you are only using one speaker. Give Jim a call, tell him I sent you. Talk to him about it.

Assuming it's stock, your speaker is an 'Emminence made for Fender'. It's not very good..

Put a Celestion V30 on your list (The Texas Red BJ has one as standard). Never regretted fitting one into my BJ. You'll find your EQ controls actually start doing things to the sound!

C-Rex = smooth, warm, nice bottom, preserves chime while eliminating "ice pick highs"
