I often see subjects about loud amps , average 40 watts or more and
desperate guitar players complaining about it, suggesting to use an
attenuator or a hot plate, seemingly changing the sound and making the
users frustrated;.

As far as I'm concerned, I found a good solution by using my BOSS ME 50
master volume .

Therefore, I can balance my amount of volume working on the
combination of the present master volume knob and the volume pedal and
consequently getting a good sound .This particular multi effects presenting
several other advantages:
No preamp which will modify your amp and guitar original sounds as
others usually do.
You can get advantage of the very good effects 'flanger,3 types of chorus ,phaser, tremolo, univibe and so on.The overdrives are ugly but never mind,I use a marvellous fulldrive mosfet 2 and a vox wha!

What do you think of this solution?Anyway, it works right for me!!!!!!!

That's great you found a tone you really like. What amp are you using? Are you placing the ME50 in front or in the effects loop?

However, an attenuator goes between the speaker output of the amp and the speaker(s). Sounds like you're just using the ME50 as a master volume. Two very different things. An attenuator is needed to lower the volume of cranked power tubes right before the signal hits the speaker.

You are not gettting the sound of your amp. Not the same thing as an attinuator. I think you can do the same thing as you suggest by turning your volume down on your guitar.

I'm pretty sure it's OK to use in the effects loop, using only the modulation effects of course. Overdrives and distortion sound horrid through the loop. I used my Boss multi-EFX unit in the loop all the time. Give it a try. Then you can crank the preamp of your Blues Deluxe and use the volume of the ME50 like one of those volume boxes you see for sale all the time on ebay (falsely advertised as attenuators) to tame the finicky volume knob on modern Fender amps. It's just an idea. YMMV.

+1. It's not the same thing. You can put a volume pedal in the loop and control it with your foot.
