so i have a line 6 with 2 10 inch speakers and i have a MIM tele and epi sg. i like the guitars but not the amp and right now, i can either buy the 65 frontman OR trade in my line 6 and then have to pay some cash and get the 212. the only problem is right now, i dont play any gigs or anything, but i could in the future so the bigger amp would be nice, but it gets to be a pain in the rear for taking it to play with friends and here and there. what would yall do?

I feel your pain. I've got a 212 now and it's a great amp but I'm going to buy a small practice amp so i don't have to lug the 212 around.

To me it's not a power issue it's more of a sound issue. I don't own either amp but I prefer 212s over singles because the sound is bigger and more full. I ran my DeVille's in conjunction with a 412 cab and it was amazing.

I sold my small amps and picked up a fm212r it has a great sound and if you want to play gigs you can put a 412 box to it. It has the power to push all 6 12inch speakers mind does when we play gigs

I've been thinking about getting a FM212. I'm in a cover band playing 70's 80's 90's rock (no metal). Is this a good road worthy gigging amp? Also, can you get a good low-moderate volume sound? I've heard lots about how loud the amp is but is it good at practice volume too? Our other guitar player had a Hot Rod Deville and we all had to wear earplugs. He finally sold it and replaced it with a Hot Rod Deluxe to get the volume under control. I don't want to create the same problem.

I think it sounds pretty good when the volume is turned down low.

I used to have an FM65 and while yes, it can get loud enough to jam with a band, it sounds very boxy at high volumes. Not a great tone. I got rid of it.

Well I have a 212 and I love it, so naturally I'm going to tell you to go with that one. It's great!
