I have been using this amp for a couple of years now and i have been getting a bit of a fuss from the neighbours and was wondering if i could get a good attenuator for it.

Thanks.

You'll need a big one given the wattage of the Twin Reverb.

Dr. Z Airbrake
THD Hotplate - 4ohm version
Marshall Powerbrake

These are usually $200+.

Unless you are able to crank that Twin Reverb live on a big, big stage, you may want to consider getting something 40 watts or less. It may be less expensive to sell your twin and get a lower-powered (or better-size powered) amp than get the right attenuator.

Thank you for replying, I have thought about getting a new amp (deluxe reverb, hotrod, bassman) however i love this amp too much to sell it and it has some sentimental value to me as well.

Also, could i get some good natural distortion out of this amp and an attenuator, without becoming deaf?

I'm guessing yes; I have the lower-wattage Brake Lite on my Bandmaster, and I can get some tube distortion at higher volume levels.

May be more of a challenge depending on which Twin you have as they are very linear and designed for less breakup - the ultimate Fender Clean - vs. a Deluxe Reverb or Bassman as you suggested.

Should be able to get some breakup, but again, not a the level of breakup you'd get more easily from a Deluxe Reverb or a Bassman..
